Everyone loves Peru-especially Rusty from Still Water Rhythm

We've just received photos from our Peruvian, bud Ruben so the site is still messy, please email us any questions or interests because we still have to ask about prices. But you shouldn't worry about that. Everything should be between $10 and $25. Sweet deal, huh! Thanks to constant visiters to Dad. We should be able to mail something by the end of January.  Andy

Lima, Not the Bean

Hola,

Here's my Lima excursion. Or at least
part of it.

Last Tuesday my dad, brother n I headed
off to Lima to see my sister for a week.
My mom took the helicopter ride the day
before and we got to drive 12 hoursup
and down mountains on side windey roads.

First we left for Huancayo at 6 in the morn
thank god we had a CD player or I would've went
crazy. The drive was incredile! Extremely beautiful
but bouncing around in a Suburban for 6 hours gets old.
Halfway there we stopped at a bread shop and got fresh
sugar bread which eased our pain for a short time. The
second half of the trip didn't seem as bad and arrived
at noon.

The driver and our cool bodyguards which were pack'n by
the way took us to a trout restaurant with hatchery so
it was fresh. Good stuff. Later we went to an old
Fransican monastery that open everyday except for guess what
Tuesday. So we drove around the country side for awhile.

Then we went to this beautiful park designed by artists
in the city. Hand done wood carvings, stone laying, gold
statues, and bridges with water, and flowers and lots
of happy stuff. I went in this stone castle for kids
and somebody yelled at Julio our bodyguard for me being
up there. We took pictures of us mocking the statues since
some of them were pretty silly looking.

We then checked out the Inca market and found lots of
stuff I didn't need. Anything you don't need they
have it plus lots of cool wall hangings and carving
and some awesome craftmanship. I bought a burned Beatles CD
with 26 songs for 6 bucks in the market too. They tried to
sell me a Britney Spears greatest hits CD too but no thanks.

For dinner we went to this awesome pizza place. IT was
kinda odd but we had Mexican pizza.

The next morning at 6 again we headed off for
6 more hours at pure bliss on our way to Lima.
It wasn't quite as bad until we got to the
highest railroad in the world at 15,000 feet and
spiral road down felt like Tom's Twister at Six Flags.
We drove through the snow capped mountains
we had passed in the helicopter our first time through.

The cool thing about Peru is that there
isn't any rules when it comes to drivin
so our driver would pass log trucks around
right angle turns. But he would honk everytime.
It makes the drive so much more exciting when any
minute could be your last. But we made it to the
Las Americas SWEETS in one piece. Plus we had the
Penthouse SWEET so that was even better.

Getter get some sleep. This coca tea makes me sleepy.

Love, David
